Sasha Vezenkov was named MVP January at Euroleague and wrote history at Olympiacos

Sasa Vezenkov made a… Super January with Olympiacos at Euroleague and was named MVP for that month in the event.

Sasa Vezenkov stood out with his performance in Olympic clashes against Zalgiris, Bayern, Basconia, Real Madrid, Fenerbahce and Anadolu Efes. However, his appearance against the Bavarians was historic.

Sasa Vezenkov did incredible things against the Bavarians in the match of the 20th Euroleague match scoring 45 points (career record).

The Bulgarian international made a total of four personal records in that match, that is, in points (41 before), in rating in the rating system (52), in apt three -pointers (8) and in apt two -pointers (10), and the first one became the first one. A player in Olympiacos history scoring 45 points in a European match.

The 52 points in the rating system are the highest performance of a player in a match this season in the event, but also the sixth best in the history of the event.

In January, Sasa Vezenkov “measured” 24.3 points and 6.5 rebounds on average in the event, gathering 29.5 points in the evaluation system.

This is the fourth time that Sasa Vezenkov has been a one -month MVP in the event and today he is the only Olympic player who has achieved it four times, as he was a 1 month MVP titles before, with Vasilis Spanoulis (February 2012, 2012, November 2013 and October 2014).

Sasa Vezenkov had emerged a one -month MVP in February 2022, November 2023 and February 2024.

With the four MVP titles, the leader of Olympiacos also moved to 3rd places with the most MVP titles of a month of all time in the event. Only Nikola Mirotic and Mike James surpass the Bulgarian forward with seven and five MVP titles respectively.

This is the 13th time that Olympiacos player has been a one -month MVP at Euroleague (the last four by Sasa Vezenkov), 4th highest performance than all Euroleague teams in history.

The rest of the players of the Piraeus team that became the most valuable one month at Euroleague are Taius Edni (February 2006), Arvidas Matsiyauskas (November 2007), Milos Teodosic (January 2010), Raso Nesterovic (February 2011), Stratos Perperoglou (December 2013) and Giorgos Printzis (2015).
